Installation

ProTaper Pillow Top Grips are a straightforward slide-on installation suitable for home mechanics. Clean the handlebars thoroughly to remove old adhesive and contaminants. Apply a quality grip glue (such as ProTaper Grip Glue, sold separately — 1 oz. bottle bonds up to 12 pairs) to both the bar and the inside of the grip. Slide the grip onto the bar and rotate to spread the adhesive evenly. Allow the glue to fully cure for a minimum of 4–6 hours (or per the adhesive manufacturer's instructions) before riding. The throttle-side grip features a larger inner bore to accommodate the throttle tube — do not force it onto the clutch side. Optional: secure with safety wire through the flange for maximum retention in aggressive riding conditions. No special tools required.
